Our US team consistently documents a dramatic end-of-year spike in sophisticated CEO impersonation and Business Email Compromise (BEC) phishing campaigns. Attackers craft urgent, credible emails posing as executives, often requesting wire transfers for \u00ab\u00a0holiday bonuses\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a0critical vendor payments\u00a0\u00bb from finance departments busy with year-end closures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To combat this seasonal threat landscape, EBRAND\u2019s U.S.-based <a href=\"https:\/\/ebrand.com\/digital-risk-protection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Digital Risk Protection (DRP)<\/a> teams&nbsp;leverage&nbsp;AI-driven executive monitoring and rapid-response takedown networks. Our systems continuously scan for domain spoofs, fake social media profiles impersonating C-suite executives, and newly launched phishing pages. For example, recently for a national retail client, we&nbsp;identified&nbsp;and dismantled a network of over 80 fraudulent websites that had sprung up to mimic their Christmas promotion. Dismantling this network helped mitigate impersonations&nbsp;before they could&nbsp;impact&nbsp;the holiday sales period.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-germany-nbsp-christmas-market-s-and-marketplace-protection\"><strong>Germany:&nbsp;Christmas Market<\/strong>s and Marketplace Protection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Germany, where Christmas markets were first created in the Middle Ages, you&rsquo;ll find the Christmas spirit in the glow of a \u201cWeihnachtsmarkt\u201d. These historic markets have long been places of tradition and community, for sharing food, drinks, and shopping. As you walk among wooden stalls, you can pick up a mulled wine (Gl\u00fchwein) and some handcrafted ornaments. Fake shops spring up online, along with sophisticated fake online stores, which our international teams track every day. Scammers build fraudulent websites that copy legitimate German brands, especially in popular categories like clothing, luxuries, and consumer goods. Scammers then push these sites through targeted social media ads and search results, offering high-demand products at cut-throat prices. Ultimately, fake shops damage hard-earned reputations and break customer trust when shoppers receive bad products or nothing at all.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We specialize in hunting down these counterfeits across every digital corner, from big marketplaces to social media. Our tools use smart image recognition to spot fakes, and our local experts know exactly how to remove them. Because we have strong relationships with hosting companies and platforms here, we can execute fast, high-volume takedowns. Just this season, we\u2019ve taken down hundreds of these fraudulent shops. For many, the spiritual heart of the season is Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. We use specialized technology to&nbsp;monitor&nbsp;ad networks and app stores around the clock, hunting for any unauthorized use of a brand&rsquo;s name or look. When we find a problem, we move quickly with takedown requests and legal action to break up these fraud networks. For example, we recently helped a major UK department store find and disable a whole network of fake Facebook ads. This concept refers to the cherished feeling of cozy, joyful togetherness. Families gather by candlelight to play games and share plates of warm&nbsp;\u00e6bleskiver, those beloved pancake puffs.
